Red Hare Bloodstock’s two-year-old Per Incanto colt out of Ronda is set to join New Zealand’s leading stable Te Akau Racing in preparation for the future where he will race in Hong Kong out of Jamie Richards' stable.
Richards, who has won three New Zealand Trainer’s Premierships for Te Akau, was announced in December as the latest edition to the Hong Kong Jockey Club training ranks.
Raced by Red Hare Bloodstock’s Justin Wong, Ronda was an impressive winner on debut at Otaki in 2015 when prepared by trainer Mark Forbes.
“Ronda was a very special horse as she was the very first filly I bought with the hopes of eventually being a breeder myself," Wong said. "Fast forwarded to today, with some smaller but significant milestones achieved, I am excited and thrilled for her foal to be joining Te Akau Racing before heading to Hong Kong into Jamie Richards' stable."
Wong purchased the Waikato Stud-bred daughter out of their 2015 New Zealand Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale draft.
The unnamed Per Incanto colt joining Te Akau Racing is her first living foal and he was purchased by Ms Yvonne Ng from Singapore at the 2021 New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Book 1 Sale for $180,000.
Ronda has a yearling filly by exciting first season sire U S Navy Flag which is being retained by Red Hare Bloodstock. Ronda is currently in foal to exciting new sire Hello Youmzain, a multiple Group One winning son of Kodiac.
Red Hare Bloodstock will again be active at the Karaka Yearling Sales which take place in Auckland from March 7 in both a buying and selling capacity.
From a selling perspective Red Hare Bloodstock will offer two fillies by Per Incanto, Lot 392 from Luxe (O’Reilly) and Lot 447 from Nigelissima (Pentire), both of which will be presented through Phoenix Park.
