Redhare Bloodstock’s broodmare portfolio looks set to receive a boost courtesy of a promising juvenile filly in Australia.
Pretty Shamrock (Written Tycoon x Empress O’Reilly) won her trial at Randwick on Tuesday for John O’Shea and her owner-breeders Yulong Investments.
The two-year-old filly was having the first trial of this preparation and mustered speed well for James McDonald to sit behind the leaders in the 743m heat. She surged to the line between runners to win by half a length.
Pretty Shamrock is out of Empress O’Reilly, a full-sister to Redhare Bloodstock’s broodmare Ronda (O’Reilly x Victoria’s Reign) whose two-year-old Per Incanto colt is set to join Te Akau Racing’s Matamata barn before heading to Hong Kong to continue his racing career under the care of Jamie Richards.
Ronda has a yearling filly by exciting first season sire U S Navy Flag which is being retained by Red Hare Bloodstock. Ronda is currently in foal to exciting new sire Hello Youmzain, a multiple Group One winning son of Kodiac.
