Red Hare Bloodstock bred four -year-old Hangry flew home to win the Class 5-B over 1200m worth RM$18,000 at Penang Turf Club for owners Kerlybob racing on Saturday.

Ridden by apprentice jockey S Sia, Hangry settled well towards the back of the field, biding his time on the rails before zooming down the rails at the 200m mark to win by half-a-length over Dark Wizard with Zilfikar two lengths further back in third position.

Bred by Maggie and Jilyin Wong, Hangry is by Rich Hill Stud-based sire Shocking out of the dual race winning Danske mare Duch.

It was the first win for the Sharee Hamilton-trained gelding, who has been placed in six runs to date.
